indielinkct.com. WP ver 3.2.1. BP ver 1.5.1. Bruce Theme ver 3.17.16. Hello, I love the Bruce theme but I want to customize the colors and add my own images. I found the images folder, but all the images are present there -- such as the Read On buttons. Where can I find these? Also where do I look to change the colors of fonts, backgrounds, Nav, etc. There are lots of php templates for this theme and in the css folder I found several css files that aren't viewable in my wordpress admin section for the Bruce theme. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hey there - I'm testing the Bruce theme out and it seems that both status updates and posting to groups (not forums, group pages) isn't working. I saw the other post about status updates not working for Ines but there hasn't been any movement on that thread in a week. Any ideas? Thanks.

Bruce will use the first image from your post content,
for example: insert an image in this post, then Bruce will show the image auto on the frontpage.

Hi,

I have set up a site using Wordpress 3.0.1, Buddypress 1.2.5.2 and your Bruce theme.

When I upload an image to create a new group, the image appears to upload correctly but then I am prompted to crop it. No matter where or how I set up the crop the image is cropped randomly and shows only a very small section. Do you know what's happening and how to fix it? Or - is there any way to set up a choice to not crop? Right now it give no choice for not cropping.

widget image sizes
Can you tell me where I would find the file that governs the images sizes found in widgets. For instance, the groups widget and members widget display images that are too small. I'm using the Bruce theme.

Hi Milo,

I had upgraded buddypress 1.2.1 and latest bruce built according to your suggested steps. It works very well except following issues:
1) can't get image resize in main slider and feature even i had change default_size = 'thumbnail' in image.php. The image resize worked before the upgrade.

2) Images are not displayed in popular column. It was working fine before the upgrade

Please advise what had gone wrong?

Thanks.

Yes, Bruce is buddypress 1.2.compatible,
you have two ways to achieve that:

1.
please download, install and activate the BuddyPress backwards compatibility plugin

2.
use the latest bruce built, copy your current css and rename it to css old

further steps for upgrading buddypress:

Upgrading from 1.1 to 1.2

 1. Deactivate any BuddyPress plugins and then deactivate BuddyPress.
2. If you are not going to use the new default theme, please download, install and activate the BuddyPress backwards compatibility plugin.
3. Upgrade BuddyPress automatically, or download BuddyPress and overwrite your existing copy.
4. Delete “bp-default” and “bp-sn-parent” from your themes directory.
5. If you are using your own custom theme from 1.1, you will need to add define( 'BP_CLASSIC_TEMPLATE_STRUCTURE', true ); to your wp-config.php file above the “stop editing” line.
6. Activate BuddyPress. You do not need to move any themes in this version.
